AKDB and OOWV found smart data worx
Innovative data solutions for the water industry
The Anstalt für Kommunale Datenverarbeitung in Bayern (AKDB) and the Oldenburgisch-Ostfriesischer Wasserverband (OOWV) have founded the joint subsidiary smart data worx GmbH. The aim of this co-operation is to develop data-based solutions for the sustainable and climate-adapted use of water resources.
smart data worx GmbH will use data intelligence to optimise water resources. The aim is to make a contribution to sustainable water management and play a leading role in data-driven water management. The newly founded company will benefit from the know-how of AKDB subsidiary roosi GmbH, which specialises in data intelligence, as well as from the expertise of Niedersachsen Wasser, a subsidiary of OOWV. The cooperation combines expertise from the public and private sectors to develop solutions for water and climate challenges.
smart data worx GmbH will offer municipalities and water companies various technological solutions. These include the ‘water spot 360’, an IoT-driven data space for water management, the ‘SubsurfaceViewer’, a platform for geological analyses and models, and the ‘Climate Manager’, which supports municipalities and companies in the development of climate protection concepts. Smart City and IoT solutions for monitoring water resources and optimising infrastructure are also offered.
The managing directors of smart data worx GmbH are Lars Friebe, Head of Human Resources, Legal, IT and Organisation at OOWV, and Ralf Pichl, General Manager of roosi GmbH.
The smart data worx product range is part of the AKDB Group's Smart Data Services solution portfolio.
‘Water is one of the most important resources for the future. With data intelligence, we can use water more efficiently and protect it better,’ says Rudolf Schleyer, CEO of AKDB. ‘The smart data worx will help to improve the management of water resources.’
‘Water is the key element in climate impact adaptation. Data-based solutions play a crucial role in overcoming the challenges of climate change,’ explains Lars Friebe. ‘Ecologically and economically sensible data solutions save resources, increase efficiency and enable better decisions to be made based on data,’ adds Ralf Pichl.
